The owner of a medical aesthetics business has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for sexually assaulting multiple clients, as ruled by a judge and reported online on Sept. 25.
Farshad Khojsteh Kashani was found guilty by a jury last year on seven counts of sexual assault, each involving a different client. These clients visited Kashani for a vaginal rejuvenation procedure utilizing a HIFU machine, as detailed in the court ruling. According to the victims, the machine was used appropriately, but Kashani also used sexually explicit language during the assaults.
Five of the victims experienced significant physical pain during the assaults. A psychological evaluation revealed that Kashani displayed issues with minimizing and denying sexual violence, with factors pointing to a risk of reoffending. The judge highlighted factors such as the chronicity of the offenses, psychological coercion, minimization of the violence, and limited self-awareness in Kashani’s behavior.
The judge assessed Kashani as a moderate risk for reoffending, particularly in providing intimate procedures without supervision. Kashani has been ordered to pay a victim surcharge of $1,400 and register as a sex offender for 20 years. Notably, Kashani is not a licensed medical doctor in Canada, and he has been in custody since April.
