Man found unconscious in Montreal fire

A man was injured in a fire Tuesday afternoon.

The fire broke out at 4:40 p.m. in a two-story residential building on Saint-Charles Ave., near Henri-Bourassa Blvd.

Once on the scene, firefighters found the man unconscious. He was transported to hospital.

Around 70 firefighters worked to put out the blaze.

The investigation has been transferred to the Montreal police (SPVM) due to a person being injured.

The fire department (SIM) is reminding Montrealers that next week is fire prevention week and a good time to ensure all your smoke detectors are working.

It’s still unclear what exactly caused the fire. An investigation is ongoing.
