Vancouver Leaps Into Action: PWHL’s Newest Team Unveils Inaugural Season Schedule

The Vancouver Professional Women’s Hockey League team is gearing up for their first home game on Friday, November 21st at the historic Pacific Coliseum at the PNE, where the Vancouver Canucks used to play. Their opponents for this debut match will be the Seattle expansion team.

Expressing her excitement, Vancouver forward Jenn Gardiner shared, “Starting our season at the Pacific Coliseum is a dream come true. I can’t wait to share this moment with my teammates and fans on November 21st.”

The news of the league’s expansion to Vancouver and Seattle, which now brings the total number of teams to eight, was announced in April during the league’s second season.

In recent updates, the Vancouver team has appointed Brian Idalski as the head coach and Cara Gardner Morey as the general manager. Their official team colors are Cream and Pacific Blue, but the league has yet to reveal the team’s logo and name. Speculations suggest potential names like the ‘Griffins,’ ‘Breakers,’ and ‘Glaciers’ for Vancouver.

Following their inaugural game, Vancouver will head to Ottawa to face off against the Charge just five days later. The complete schedule for Vancouver’s team can be found online, and single-game tickets will be available for purchase starting on October 14th.
