Authorities reported that a shocking incident unfolded outside a synagogue in the north of Manchester, leaving four people injured. According to Greater Manchester Police, a car was deliberately driven at members of the public, and a man was stabbed during the unsettling event that took place at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall around 9:30 a.m.
Following a distress call from a vigilant bystander, police swiftly responded to the scene where paramedics were already attending to the injured individuals. The victims, totaling four, suffered injuries from both the vehicular assault and the stabbing. As the situation unfolded, authorities urged the public to steer clear of the area while they managed and investigated the incident.
Minutes later, firearms officers intervened by firing shots, ultimately subduing the suspected assailant. Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the individual shot was the presumed offender.
