Residents in Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Montreal can now breathe a sigh of relief as the city has officially lifted the boil water advisory that was in place.
Following thorough water sample analysis, officials have confirmed that the water quality has returned to safe levels, prompting the advisory to be lifted.
The precautionary advisory was put in place on Tuesday due to a temporary drop in water pressure, sparking concerns about potential contamination.
To ensure the safety of the water supply, residents are advised to run all cold-water faucets for a few minutes before using the water. However, there is no need to empty the hot water tank.
Furthermore, it is recommended to clean and sanitize coffee machines and ice machines before using them again.
For those using filtration systems, such as pitchers, faucet filters, under-sink filters, or refrigerators with water dispensers, it is important to replace the filters to maintain water quality.
