A minor earthquake rattled the Lower Mainland near Maple Ridge on Monday night, but most residents likely didn’t even notice.
The magnitude-2.6 tremor occurred approximately 9 kilometers northeast of Maple Ridge just before 9:30 p.m.
Earthquakes Canada mentioned that quakes below a magnitude of 5.4 typically do not result in any significant damage.
Despite being described as “weak” or “light” by a few individuals who reported the event, there have been no reports of damage.
This earthquake comes shortly after a magnitude-4.8 quake shook B.C.’s Central Coast on Sunday, which also went unfelt and did not cause any harm.
