A fire that broke out Sunday morning in Port Coquitlam caused extensive damage to two homes and left one firefighter with non-life-threatening injuries.
Port Coquitlam Fire & Emergency Services responded to the blaze in the 1900 block of Langan Avenue, near Pitt River Road, at approximately 10 a.m.
Deputy Fire Chief Jason Marshall said the structure fire involved two residential properties. Victim Services is assisting residents affected by the incident.
One firefighter was injured while battling the fire. The firefighter received medical attention at the scene before being transported to hospital. Marshall said the injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The fire has since been brought under control, but crews remain at the scene to monitor for hot spots and ensure the blaze is fully extinguished.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
