After months of investigation, authorities have apprehended eight individuals in connection with a widespread mail theft operation in Halton and Peel Region. The suspects are now confronting a myriad of charges and the possibility of deportation.
Dubbed “Operation Undeliverable,” the investigation commenced in April 2025 as a collaborative effort between law enforcement and Canada Post in response to a surge in mail theft incidents in the region.
The probe unveiled a collective effort by a group of individuals to target residential mailboxes, leading to substantial thefts and disturbances within the community, as per authorities’ recent update.
Search warrants were executed on residences in Mississauga, specifically in areas like Rhinebank Street, Brandon Gate Drive, Dwiggin Avenue, and Kittridge Drive on September 8 and 9, resulting in the recovery of more than 450 pieces of mail totaling over $400,000 in value. Among the recovered items were 255 cheques, 182 credit cards, 35 government IDs, and 20 gift cards.
The arrested individuals, whose identities have been withheld, now collectively face 344 charges and are currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing. Law enforcement is working closely with the Peel Crown Attorney’s Office and the Canada Border Services Agency to assess the potential deportation of the accused foreign nationals from Canada as part of the legal proceedings.
