24-Year-Old Admits to Fatal Stabbing in 2022 Coquitlam Tragedy

A tragic event from four years ago in Coquitlam has come to a somber conclusion as a man pleads guilty to manslaughter in connection with the stabbing death of 66-year-old Terry Miller.

The incident dates back to February 2022 when a man was viciously attacked near a complex on Schoolhouse Avenue, north of Lougheed Highway. The victim, later identified as Terry Miller, was found with severe stab wounds and was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, Miller succumbed to his injuries.

Jeffrey Stevens was pinpointed as the suspect in this heartbreaking case, and after nearly a year, he was apprehended by authorities. The BC Prosecution Service charged him with second-degree murder.

In a recent development, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) disclosed that Stevens, now 24 years old, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in a British Columbia court. His sentencing is scheduled for March 12, 2026.

Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT expressed condolences, stating, “As we await sentencing, our thoughts are with Mr. Miller’s family and those who were impacted by this tragic incident.”
