A frost advisory has been issued for Montreal, with temperatures expected to drop to around the freezing mark Thursday night.
Officials say conditions are favourable for frost, especially in exposed and low-lying areas, as skies clear and winds ease overnight.
Rain is expected to end Thursday afternoon, followed by cloudy skies and winds shifting from the south to the west at 20 km/h, gusting up to 40 km/h. The daytime high will reach 11 Celsius.
Skies will become partly cloudy Thursday night, allowing temperatures to fall to 0 C and increasing the likelihood of frost developing.
Friday will bring mainly sunny conditions, with a high of 13 C and west winds increasing to 30 km/h. Clear skies will continue Friday night, with a low of 3 C.
The weekend forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud Saturday and Sunday, with daytime highs near 13 C.
Cloudier conditions return early next week, with a 40 per cent chance of showers Monday. Temperatures are expected to climb to 19 C by Tuesday before rain returns Wednesday.
