The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says the fatal shooting on Monday at a Surrey business complex is believed to be targeted.
Investigators add that the victim was a “man in his 30s who was at his place of work at the time of the shooting.”
No suspect has been identified yet, and the motive is still to be determined.
While police are saying the shooting was targeted, they are explaining that the victim had no reported history of receiving extortion threats.
“IHIT is working closely with the victim’s family to establish background information and a timeline leading up to the shooting,” investigators said.
