On April 15, 2025, one of two suspects — 21-year-old Gurtaj Singh — was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
Investigators continued looking for the second suspect. On Dec. 1, 2025, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder against 22-year-old Aman, who is also known as Aman Aman or Aman Ramesh.
“Following the approval of the charges, the team at IHIT was unrelenting in their efforts to advance the investigation and locate Mr. Aman,” said Sgt. Freda Fong.
“As a result of those efforts, on Feb. 9, 2026, an arrest warrant was granted for Mr. Aman to face extradition for the offences.”
On April 24, IHIT investigators took custody of Aman from the U.S. Marshals Service. He was brought to Canada and remains in custody.
Aman’s next court appearance is set for May 11.
