Céline Dion gown from iconic Paris Olympics performance on display at McCord Museum

A piece of Céline Dion and Olympic history is on display at the McCord Stewart Museum in Montreal.

The new exhibit’s centrepiece is the Dior gown worn by the Quebec icon during her performance at the opening ceremony of the Paris Summer Games in 2024.

That’s where she sang Édith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” on the Eiffel Tower.

The exhibit is called “Céline in Dior: A Dazzling Moment.”

Created especially for the chanteuse, the gown showcases incredible craftsmanship and required more than 1,000 hours of work.

The haute couture piece is the focal point of what the museum is describing as an intimate and exclusive experience. Visitors will get a rare, up-close look at the dress while being drawn back into Dion’s performance thanks to large-scale projections.

“Céline in Dior: A Dazzling Moment” will be at the McCord Stewart Museum in Montreal from May 15 to Sept. 7.
