A chase between police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) and an individual driving a Lamborghini took place during the night of Friday to Saturday on Highway 15.
SQ police officers identified, around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, a Lamborghini that was traveling at a very high speed.
“The police officers informed the driver of their intention to intercept him, but he refused to stop,” said Frédéric Deshaies, spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). A chase was then initiated before being quickly interrupted due to the very high speed of the vehicle.”
The Lamborghini was then involved in a road accident in the area of Route 132 in Saint-Lambert.
The driver, a 22-year-old man from Varennes, sustained minor injuries. Authorities arrested him for dangerous driving as well as fleeing.
The individual was later released and will appear in court at a later date, Deshaies said.
