Montreal pulsed with playoff energy Saturday night as Canadiens supporters packed bars, patios and terraces across the city to watch Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Though the series had shifted south to Lenovo Center, the atmosphere in Montreal carried the intensity of a home game, with cheers and groans spilling onto downtown streets with every shot, save and scoring chance.
At 3 Brasseurs, fans crowded around television screens as the Hurricanes edged the Canadiens 3-2 in overtime to even the series.
The buzz was heightened by Formula One weekend festivities, which brought waves of visitors into the downtown core.
