Three teens charged following fatal Montreal North Walmart stabbing

Three teenagers are facing charges in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old man inside a Walmart in Montreal North, while a fourth teen arrested in the case has been released without charge.

Montreal police (SPVM) announced that four 15-year-old boys were arrested Wednesday evening, just over 24 hours after Geovani Ray Robbins was fatally stabbed during an altercation inside the store near Henri-Bourassa and Lacordaire boulevards.

According to court proceedings, one teenager has been charged with second-degree murder. A second teen is facing a charge of possessing or handling a weapon for a dangerous purpose. A third teenager has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to aggravated assault and with obstruction of justice.

A fourth 15-year-old who was arrested during the investigation was released without charge.

The suspects appeared in Youth Court on Thursday. Their next court appearance is scheduled for June 10.

Police say Robbins was stabbed in the upper body with a sharp object in the baby section of the Walmart on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency responders transported him to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

As part of the investigation, officers executed search warrants at residences in Montreal North and St-Leonard. Investigators believe the accused are students at a high school located near the scene of the stabbing.

The killing marked the ninth homicide recorded on Montreal police territory in 2026.

The investigation remains ongoing.
