After three decades as the venue for the National Bank Open, Jarry Park in Montreal is under pressure to undergo modernization. While Polo praised certain tournament features, he highlighted the stadium’s aging infrastructure compared to other top tournaments like Cincinnati. Tennis Canada is planning a major overhaul of the IGA Stadium site, including a new retractable roof for Centre Court and additional courts. Polo supported these ambitious plans, recognizing the positive impact on Canadian tennis revenue and growth. Amid talks of expanding the ATP calendar, Polo stressed the importance of evolving existing tournaments rather than adding new ones. He also proposed the idea of installing a roof at the Montreal facility to mitigate weather-related disruptions. Polo addressed the absence of top players in Montreal, emphasizing the need for financial incentives to attract and retain elite talent for Masters 1000 events.
