Langley RCMP has seized more than a kilogram of what officers believe to be cocaine and materials police say could be used for drug packing after searching a vehicle.
It’s Special Response Team (SRT) conducted a targeted traffic stop at Logan Avenue and Glover Road after seeing a car driving erratically, repeatedly failing to maintain its lane, and coming close to striking a curb around 4:15 p.m. on June 4.
While interacting with the driver, officers saw items consistent with drug trafficking inside the vehicle.
The driver and three passengers were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking.
During a search, police found also found bear spray, a large hunting knife, and an imitation handgun.
All four have been released while the investigation continues, with the seized items undergoing analysis and examination, the results of which are required before the investigation can proceed.
“The significant quantity of suspected drugs and presence of weapons is deeply concerning and underscores the risks associated with this type of criminal activity. Our priority remains the safety of the public, and we will continue to take decisive action to remove these threats from our streets,” said Langley RCMP’s Sgt. Zynal Sharoom.
