Surrey Police and BC SPCA Rescue 41 Neglected Dogs from Irresponsible Breeder
A recent police investigation in Surrey uncovered a distressing situation involving 41 neglected dogs being kept by an irresponsible breeder, according to authorities.
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) responded to a call near 84th Avenue and 192 Street on July 1st regarding a suspicious individual. Upon arrival, officers arrested the man and discovered a property associated with him.
Inside the residence, officers found the dogs in varying states of neglect and poor health. Concerned about their well-being, the SPS enlisted the help of a local veterinarian, who identified numerous health issues affecting the animals.
Following the veterinarian’s assessment, the SPS initiated an investigation into animal neglect and cruelty. Working in collaboration with the BC SPCA, all 41 dogs were removed from the property on July 2nd and are now under the care of the BC SPCA.
The rescued dogs are receiving treatment for a range of ailments, including ear infections, skin problems, dental issues, and more. Each dog has been assigned an individual care plan tailored to their specific needs.
Among the rescued dogs is Clover, who requires specialized surgeries to address severe ear, eye, and breathing complications. The investigation into this case is ongoing, with authorities yet to press charges.
