Bonnie Crombie Throws Her Hat in the Ring for Mississauga Mayoral Race

Former Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie announces bid for re-election.

Bonnie Crombie, who previously served as the Mayor of Mississauga from 2014 to 2024, has revealed her intentions to run for mayor once again. In an exclusive interview with 680NewsRadio on Sunday, Crombie confirmed that she will be entering the upcoming municipal election as a candidate.

Following her tenure as mayor, Crombie briefly led the Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) before facing challenges in the 2025 Ontario general election. After the party’s third-place finish and her failure to secure a legislative seat, Crombie underwent a leadership review, which ultimately led to her resignation as OLP leader earlier this year.

With a strong desire to serve the community of Mississauga once more, Crombie is now focused on reclaiming her former mayoral position. Voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots and determine Crombie’s fate on Monday, October 26, 2026.
