Starting this week, a campfire ban will be implemented for British Columbia’s southern coastline. The BC Wildfire Service is taking this step to lower the chances of wildfires caused by human activities. Regions affected by the ban include the Lower Mainland, Sea-to-Sky corridor, Vancouver Island, the Central Coast, and Haida Gwaii. However, there are specific areas in the North Island and the Sunshine Coast that are exempt from the ban. The ban is scheduled to commence on Thursday, July 15, at noon.
