News Update: Fatal Crash on Highway 401 in Mississauga Claims Two Lives
A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday morning in Mississauga as a collision on Highway 401 resulted in two fatalities and left three individuals injured, according to authorities.
Ontario Provincial Police shared details of the accident, revealing that one vehicle rear-ended another in the eastbound express lanes near Dixie Road shortly before 9 a.m. The collision occurred amid slowing traffic in the vicinity, leading to devastating consequences.
At the scene, two adults tragically lost their lives, while three others sustained injuries and were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries remains uncertain at this time.
Following the crash, the eastbound express lanes of Highway 401 have been shut down from east of Mississauga Road to east of Dixie Road. Additionally, closures have been implemented on the eastbound express lanes of Highway 403 beyond Eglinton Avenue towards the 401.
