Montreal Police Conduct Drug Lab Bust in Griffintown Condo Building

Montreal police (SPVM) initiated a significant operation on Wednesday to dismantle a drug lab located in a condo building in the Griffintown area. As a precautionary measure, residents from two floors of the building were evacuated, and the underground parking facility was sealed off.

The operation, expected to be lengthy, may extend into Thursday as authorities meticulously dismantle the illicit drug lab. In addition to the building closures, certain streets in the vicinity including Shannon Street and Smith Street have been temporarily shut down to facilitate the operation. Both motorists and cyclists are urged to steer clear of these areas for the time being.

The SPVM confirmed that this operation was launched following a thorough investigation conducted by their narcotics unit, with collaboration from provincial police and other emergency response agencies.
