A man, aged 54, has been arrested following a stabbing incident that took place on Thursday morning in Montreal.
The Montreal police rushed to the Côte-des-Neiges borough near Saint-Kevin Avenue and Legaré Street in response to multiple reports of a woman being injured. Upon arrival, they discovered a 35-year-old woman with wounds suspected to have been inflicted by a sharp object. She was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.
In a related development, a 54-year-old man believed to be linked to the incident was apprehended in close proximity to the scene and is currently under police custody. He is slated to make a court appearance on Friday.
Authorities are currently treating this case as a situation of intimate partner violence.
