Toronto authorities have detained a man following an incident of domestic violence at a residence in North York.
Police were summoned to a house near Sheppard Avenue West and Jane Street around 5 p.m. on Saturday in response to a report of “unknown trouble.”
Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman with severe injuries. She was rushed to a trauma center for urgent care. The woman’s condition and age were not immediately disclosed.
The male suspect was apprehended at the scene, and law enforcement recovered a bladed weapon.
Authorities have confirmed that the man and woman have a prior connection, and there are no additional suspects being pursued at present.
