The Quebec provincial police (SQ) are conducting a thorough investigation into the apparent murder of a man whose body was discovered in a residence in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts on Thursday.
According to the Sûreté du Québec, Mario Poirier, a resident of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, was reported missing on August 27. Later that same day, law enforcement officers located a deceased man inside a home on Godon Street.
The SQ’s Crimes Against the Person Investigation Service has stated that their findings suggest the death could be connected to a homicide. The identity of the victim has not been officially confirmed yet, and an autopsy is scheduled to be conducted early this week.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have information relevant to the disappearance or suspected homicide to come forward and assist in moving the investigations forward.
