A Montreal restaurant in the Saint-Michel district faced another arson attempt, just a day after a similar incident. The recent attack occurred on Monday at a business on Jean-Talon Street, near 22nd Avenue. Quick action by a vigilant citizen helped prevent further damage to the restaurant.
On Sunday, the same establishment was targeted in an arson attack where an individual tried to start a fire after smashing a window. The suspect fled upon being noticed by another citizen. Despite incendiary devices being found, the fire did not ignite before police arrived.
The Montreal Police (SPVM) arson division is actively investigating the incidents. Surveillance footage in the area is being reviewed to identify the perpetrator(s) and determine if there is a connection between the two incidents.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with these arson attempts.
