Authorities in Toronto have apprehended a man on suspicion of photographing an 11-year-old girl in a restroom at Kew Gardens.
According to Toronto police officials, the troubling incident unfolded last Tuesday at approximately 4 p.m. within the park vicinity near Queen Street East and Lee Avenue.
Reportedly, the male suspect was already inside the restroom when the young girl entered and occupied a stall. Allegedly, he proceeded to take photographs of her through the stall gaps.
Following the unsettling encounter, the girl sought assistance while the suspect promptly fled the scene.
Yesterday, Toronto resident Hans Martins-Gonzalez, aged 36, was taken into custody and charged with the offense of secretly observing or recording an individual expecting privacy.
Martins-Gonzalez is set to make a court appearance tomorrow.
