Abir Batikhi experienced a wave of relief when her missing cat, Caramel, was finally located at Toronto Pearson International Airport after a harrowing two-week search.
Batikhi, who had flown from Amman to Montreal with her four cats on August 17, was devastated to find that when she arrived, only three of her feline companions were returned to her. The heart-wrenching moment unfolded at Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, where airport staff broke the news to Batikhi that Caramel was missing, having stayed in the cargo area of the plane bound for Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Despite numerous efforts and calls to customer service, it took over two weeks before a breakthrough occurred. A GTA Dnata employee reported seeing Caramel underneath the hood of ground service equipment parked at Vista Cargo on August 17. Although the initial attempt to catch Caramel failed, subsequent searches and traps were set up in the area, leading to a positive development.
After an exhaustive search, Caramel was successfully captured and is now on her way back home to Montreal, bringing immense relief and gratitude to Batikhi.
