In a shocking incident at Marguerite Bourgeoys Park on Wellington Street, a 42-year-old man was reportedly attacked with a hammer on Friday afternoon. The alleged assailant, a 21-year-old individual, fled the scene in a vehicle and collided with a building before being apprehended by Montreal police. Fortunately, no other individuals were harmed during this incident.
Responding to a 911 call around 12:30 p.m., authorities arrived at the park to find the victim, who had sustained injuries to his upper body. Despite the severity of the assault, the victim remained conscious and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
As investigations unfold, law enforcement officials are exploring the possibility of additional individuals being involved in this disturbing case. The suspect, identified as a 21-year-old, was driving a Jeep with an Ontario license plate at the time of the incident.
The chaotic turn of events saw the vehicle crashing into a building, causing bricks to tumble from the structure’s side.
