The Kelowna RCMP is actively investigating a serious stabbing incident that occurred late Thursday night, resulting in one person sustaining significant injuries.
Reported shortly after 10:00 p.m., the incident took place near Dilworth Drive and Summit Drive, prompting a swift response from law enforcement officers.
The victim, who was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment, is currently recovering from serious, yet non-life-threatening wounds.
Although RCMP Police Dog Services were deployed to track down the suspect, no arrests have been made thus far. Authorities suspect the perpetrator may have fled the scene on a scooter, leading to the seizure of a scooter as evidence during the ongoing investigation.
Due to the victim’s condition, details surrounding the incident remain scarce, hindering the investigation progress. At this juncture, the authorities are unable to ascertain the level of risk posed to the public.
Staff Sgt. Kris Clark of the BC RCMP mentioned, “Investigators have completed the initial examination of the outdoor site and are actively seeking CCTV footage from nearby establishments to aid in the identification and apprehension of the suspect.”
