Toronto Hydro has successfully restored power to over 64,000 customers following the recent storm that hit the city. However, approximately 500 customers are still without power due to more complex repairs needed, such as addressing downed powerlines and damaged electrical equipment. Despite the challenges, Toronto Hydro is working tirelessly to resolve these issues and has assured affected customers that restoration efforts are ongoing.
The storm that occurred on September 2nd caused extensive damage to trees and electrical infrastructure, making it one of the most significant weather events in recent years, as reported by Toronto Hydro. Midtown Toronto was particularly hard-hit by the outages, with residents still grappling with the aftermath. To provide support and updates, Toronto Hydro will be engaging directly with impacted customers through community outreach sessions. One such session will be held on Saturday at the North Toronto Memorial Community Centre in Forest Hill, with two additional sessions taking place at the Main Square Community Centre and the Northwood Community Centre in North York.
