Just over a week after being freed in Durham Region, a high-risk individual has been apprehended for violating his court-mandated terms.
Keith Theodore Constantin, a 48-year-old with a troubling criminal past that includes convictions for sexual assault with a weapon, robbery, possession of explosives, and repeated breaches of probation orders, was the subject of a safety alert issued by the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) on Oct. 10. The public was warned about his release and informed that he posed a significant danger to the community, particularly to children.
Despite being released on Oct. 11, DRPS closely monitored Constantin’s activities. However, on Oct. 19, he breached a court-ordered curfew, leading to his prompt arrest. He has since been detained pending a bail hearing.
Individuals who may have relevant information are urged to reach out to DRPS or Crime Stoppers.
