A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday morning near the U.S. border in Aldergrove when a pedestrian was fatally struck by a driver. The Langley RCMP is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
The collision took place around 6:45 a.m. close to 264 Street and 0 Avenue. Emergency responders, including the Township of Langley Fire Department and paramedics, rushed to the scene where they found the injured pedestrian. Despite efforts to save their life, the pedestrian tragically passed away at the scene, according to Sgt. Zynal Sharoom.
It is not yet known whether the driver involved in the incident stayed at the scene. As the investigation continues, 264 Street remains closed, causing potential delays in the area. Motorists are advised to steer clear of the nearby border crossing until the road reopens.
