A man from Ajax is in hot water after being apprehended over the weekend in connection with a series of assaults. The investigation kicked off in early October following reports of a male individual repeatedly assaulting and threatening another person with a firearm.
On Saturday, law enforcement officers spotted the suspect and took him into custody in the vicinity of Steeles Avenue and Trafalgar Road in Halton Hills. The arrest led to the discovery of a loaded firearm equipped with a prohibited extended 15-round magazine. Additionally, illegal drugs suspected to be meant for distribution were reportedly found in his possession.
Keshon Christopher Leslie, aged 28, now faces a slew of charges, including assault, forcible confinement, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to traffic, among others. He is also charged with multiple counts of breaching a release order.
Durham regional police highlighted that Leslie was wanted on a warrant related to other violent incidents involving a different police jurisdiction.
As of now, none of the charges against him have been proven in court, and Leslie remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
