“Survey Reveals: Quebec’s Adults Not Bewitched by Halloween Like Their Kids Are!”

Get ready, Quebec kids! Halloween is just around the corner, and you’re set to be part of one of Canada’s biggest Halloween celebrations. While the Atlantic provinces take the crown for Halloween enthusiasm, the numbers show an interesting twist in Halloween habits across the country.

A recent Léger poll reveals that kids in the Atlantic provinces will be leading the trick-or-treating charge at an impressive 93%, followed closely by Quebec and Alberta at 85%. In contrast, participation in Manitoba and Saskatchewan is lower, with only 69% expected to join in the spooky fun.

When it comes to handing out candy, households in the Atlantic provinces top the list, with 68% ready to share treats. In contrast, Quebec lags behind with only 28% of households planning to hand out candy. The festive spirit also shines through in home decorations, with 55% of Atlantic households getting into the Halloween spirit, while Quebec and the prairie provinces trail behind.

Interestingly, Quebec shows lower adult participation in Halloween festivities, with only 26% planning to celebrate in various ways. On the other hand, Ontario takes the lead with 35% of adults gearing up for Halloween fun.

In terms of candy spending, the Atlantic provinces are the most generous, with an average expected expenditure of $49.14 per household. Meanwhile, Quebec residents are looking to spend an average of $41.61 on Halloween treats, the lowest among the provinces. It’s worth noting that a significant 46% of Quebecers do not plan to spend anything on Halloween treats, a stark contrast to the 19% in the Atlantic provinces.

Beyond Halloween celebrations, the poll also delves into popular beliefs across provinces, revealing interesting insights. Quebecers stand out as the least likely to believe in angels but are more open to the idea of special powers. When it comes to ghosts and paranormal phenomena, Quebecers are in line with the national average, with some variations across provinces.

As Halloween approaches, let’s not forget the roots of this beloved holiday. Originating from the Celtic festival of Samhain over 2,000 years ago, Halloween has evolved into a cherished tradition embraced by communities across North America.
