Have you thought about dressing your child as a firefighter, a scuba diver, Mary Poppins, or Gene Kelly for Halloween this year? If so, you might want to make sure their costume is rain-ready, especially if you’re in Metro Vancouver.
According to 1130 NewsRadio Meteorologist Michael Kuss, the Halloween forecast for Metro Vancouver is calling for wet weather, with 5 to 10 millimetres of rain expected per hour. The rain is expected to start early in the day.
Kuss mentions that the heaviest band of rain is likely to move southward by the evening, but between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., which are peak trick-or-treating hours, there is still a possibility of precipitation in the area.
In addition to the rain, strong winds of 30 to 50 kilometres per hour are also expected on Halloween night.
Despite the wet and windy conditions, Kuss reassures that temperatures will remain mild, ranging between nine and 11 degrees Celsius throughout the evening.
Don’t forget that the sun will set just before 6 p.m., so make sure to plan your Halloween night accordingly.
