The Vancouver Police Department has confirmed it is investigating the death of a girl who fell from a high-rise balcony in the city’s Yaletown neighbourhood Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called to a residential building near Nelson Street and Expo Boulevard just after 2:30 p.m.
First responders tried to save her life, but the child, an eight-year-old girl, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The department’s Major Crime Section is now investigating the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
