In the early hours of the morning, a fire erupted at a commercial lot in Montreal’s Saint-Laurent neighborhood, engulfing several vehicles that were already in a state of disrepair.
Upon their arrival, Montreal Police found firefighters already at the scene, diligently working to contain the flames and prevent further damage.
Thankfully, there was no harm done to the nearby commercial building.
Around 15 vehicles, many of which were already damaged or not operational, were impacted by the fire.
The cause of the fire remains a mystery, as confirmed by the SPVM. No suspects have been apprehended, and the motive behind the incident is still unknown.
Interestingly, the vehicle lot’s owner had experienced a similar targeted incident back in 2013, as per police records.
SPVM investigators will convene later today to evaluate the situation and determine the next steps for the ongoing inquiry.
