“Judge Greenlights Unsealing of Ghislaine Maxwell’s Sex Trafficking Files, Justice Department to Reveal Details”

A federal judge has approved the release of grand jury transcripts and other materials related to Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking case, in compliance with a new law mandating transparency on Jeffrey Epstein and his associate. However, Judge Paul A. Engelmayer cautioned that the disclosed materials may not provide significant new revelations.

The released materials do not implicate any individuals beyond Epstein and Maxwell in inappropriate contact with minors, nor do they reveal new details about their activities. Judge Engelmayer’s decision to unseal these records follows the Justice Department’s request to lift secrecy orders on the cases of Maxwell and Epstein as mandated by the recent transparency law.

This law, signed by President Donald Trump, compels the Justice Department to release Epstein-related records to the public by a specified deadline. The department plans to disclose various investigative materials, including search warrants, financial records, victim interview notes, and electronic device data, as part of a massive sex trafficking probe.

Epstein, a wealthy financier, faced sex trafficking charges in 2019 and died in custody shortly after his arrest. Maxwell, a British socialite, was convicted of sex trafficking in 2021 and is currently serving a prison sentence. The Justice Department is working to protect victims’ identities and prevent the dissemination of sensitive information in the released records.
