Authorities in Montreal are currently investigating a car arson incident that took place in the early hours of Saturday morning in the Pointe-aux-Trembles neighborhood.
The Montreal police, known as SPVM, were alerted to the situation when a 911 call came in at approximately 4 a.m. reporting a vehicle engulfed in flames on Sainte-Catherine Street, close to 1st Avenue.
Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement discovered the burnt vehicle inside a garage situated in front of a commercial establishment. Firefighters promptly intervened and managed to contain the fire, but the car sustained significant damage, as confirmed by SPVM officials.
Preliminary reports suggest that a potential suspect was observed fleeing the area prior to the arrival of the police.
An arson task force is meticulously examining the location and reviewing surveillance footage as part of the ongoing investigation.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
