A tragic incident unfolded in Inukjuak, Quebec, as a 36-year-old man, Andrew Naluktuk, faces charges related to a gunfire exchange with Nunavik Police Service officers. The confrontation led to the death of a six-year-old girl, who succumbed to her injuries ten days after the shooting.
Naluktuk is accused of discharging a firearm at two peace officers and assaulting them with a weapon. Additionally, he is charged with assault against another individual and causing bodily harm to a child.
Reportedly, the Nunavik officers engaged in a gun battle outside a residence in response to a call regarding a potentially dangerous person. The incident resulted in injuries to the suspect, who was subsequently apprehended, and the tragic death of another person inside the home, whose cause of death remains undisclosed.
