Saint-Laurent Takes Center Stage with Quebec’s Premier Minor Hockey Showdown!

Ville Saint-Laurent hosts the Flagship Annual Provincial Hockey Tournament, uniting players of all levels in a celebration of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The event, spanning from Jan. 6 to 18, 2026, is a spectacle of skill and determination, featuring over 2,100 players from 135 teams competing in 260 thrilling games across three vibrant arenas.

Lysanne Abelardo, director of marketing and sponsorship at Hockey Saint-Laurent, expressed pride in the tournament’s inclusivity, welcoming players from various divisions, including the newly growing Seniors category for ages 21 to 25. The tournament’s 32nd edition has drawn teams not only from Quebec but also Ontario, solidifying its reputation as one of the premier hockey events in the region.

Kicking off with a spirited opening ceremony at Raymond-Bourque Arena, the tournament saw local dignitaries join in the festivities, with girls’ hockey players taking center stage as flag bearers and masters of ceremony. The event was marked by a heartwarming rendition of the national anthem by a talented goalie from the M13C Titans.

Players like Jackson Tran of Saint-Laurent Warriors M11 B showcased their passion and dedication, embodying the tournament’s spirit of sportsmanship and pride. Despite challenges on the ice, players like goaltender Adriano Zotti and standout Gabriel Saouaf emphasized the importance of teamwork and resilience.

Coach Ioannis Segounis highlighted the infectious enthusiasm of the young athletes, emphasizing the values of hard work and enjoyment in the game. The tournament’s success is a testament to the collective effort of volunteers and the unwavering support of the community, underscoring the importance of coming together for the love of hockey.
