“Tragic Discovery: Woman’s Body Retrieved from St. Lawrence River Near Quebec City Port”

Authorities recovered a woman’s body from the St. Lawrence River near a dock in the Port of Quebec City on Tuesday. There is speculation that the body may belong to Susana Rocha Cruz, a 44-year-old woman who went missing on Jan. 7 in Quebec City. However, Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) spokesperson Laurence Godbout refrained from confirming her identity, stating that the investigation is ongoing.

On Monday, Abraham Gonzales Leon, a 43-year-old man from Laval, was taken into police custody and charged with assault causing bodily harm. It was revealed that Leon and the missing woman were acquainted.

Rocha Cruz, originally from Mexico, was employed as a housekeeper in the hotel industry. If the body is identified as hers, the charges against Leon could be elevated.
