Caufield’s stellar performance included scoring two crucial goals in the third period, marking his 31st and 32nd goals of the season. These goals helped the Canadiens rally from a 2-1 deficit for their third consecutive win.
Joining Caufield on the scoreboard were Juraj Slafkovsky and Oliver Kapanen, each contributing a goal to secure the win for Montreal. Goalkeeper Jakub Dobes was also instrumental in the victory, making an impressive 36 saves throughout the game.
On the other side, Owen Power and Noah Ostlund scored for the Sabres, who saw their five-game winning streak come to an end. Sabres’ goalie Alex Lyon put up a strong effort, making 27 saves in the match.
