A legal team representing individuals affected by two gondola incidents at a ski resort in Quebec has finalized a $5.1 million agreement with the resort owners. The law firm Tremblay Bois initiated class action lawsuits following episodes in February and March 2020 when gondolas abruptly stopped at Mont-Ste-Anne ski hill near Quebec City. Several skiers sustained injuries during these incidents, while others experienced damage to their equipment.
The $5.1 million settlement, announced recently, is subject to approval by the Quebec Superior Court on March 3. Notably, the owners of Mont-Ste-Anne have agreed to the settlement amount without admitting fault. This financial resolution aims to compensate affected individuals, address legal expenses, and cover the fees of the plaintiffs’ lawyers.
