Two individuals sustained injuries in an explosion on Wednesday evening in Kanesatake, located in the Laurentians region. Thankfully, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has confirmed that their injuries are not life-threatening.
Marythé Bolduc, the spokesperson for SQ, reported that emergency services responded to a building fire on Rang Sainte-Philomène around 6 p.m., which was believed to have been sparked by an explosion.
The injured individuals were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Bolduc added that the road had to be temporarily closed to allow the fire department to address the situation effectively.
