Peel Regional Police have apprehended a 41-year-old man from Toronto who was wanted for first-degree murder related to a shooting incident in Brampton in 2024.
Authorities received reports of gunshots in the vicinity of Kennedy Road and Stafford Drive in Brampton around 4:15 a.m. on May 11, 2024.
Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered a 43-year-old male victim with gunshot injuries. Emergency medical responders swiftly transported him to a trauma center, but sadly, he succumbed to his wounds. The victim was identified as Dayne Gordon, hailing from Toronto.
Following the incident, a nationwide warrant was issued for the arrest of Winardo Winteria Morris.
In a recent update, Peel Regional Police confirmed Morris’ capture on Monday. He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
