A man, aged 44, is currently hospitalized after a stabbing incident in Montreal’s Ville-Marie Borough.

The incident occurred between 9:00 and 9:15 a.m. when the Montreal police (SPVM) were alerted to a man being injured at the intersection of Peel Street and Maisonneuve Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the 44-year-old man with upper body injuries caused by a sharp object. Paramedics provided initial treatment before transporting him to the hospital.

Initial investigations suggest that an altercation involving individuals in hoodies escalated into the alleged assault.

The SPVM is actively investigating the incident, causing traffic disruptions at the intersection.
