A man from Woodstock, Ontario, found himself in hot water after being apprehended for attempting to sneak a substantial amount of methamphetamine into Canada from the United States at the Blue Water Bridge border crossing earlier this month.
According to a statement from the Canada Border Services Agency, the individual, operating a commercial truck, was flagged for a secondary inspection on February 4, 2026.
“Upon searching the trailer, border patrol officers, aided by a detector dog, discovered 16 duffle bags filled with suspected methamphetamine,” detailed the CBSA announcement.
“The total weight of the illicit substances amounted to 266.4 kg.”
Kulbir Singh, aged 29, was taken into custody by border officials and handed over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
Subsequently, the RCMP formally charged him with the importation and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
“The tireless efforts of the Canada Border Services Agency are aimed at safeguarding our borders and communities from the dangers of illicit drugs,” remarked CBSA’s Michael Prosia.
“This bust highlights the exceptional work of our officers in curbing the flow of illegal substances and upholding public safety.”
